"The Everyday" revisited

So there was a lot of stuff in the book that didn't make too much since. As I was reading the book (the stuff that I could actually understand) I flipped to the page where in big black bold letters said,"What happens when nothing happens?" (pg. 19, The Everyday) Well what does happen when nothing happens this could be taking in so many different ways like... what happens when there is something that is bothering you and you do nothing about it? You could end up driving yourself crazy dealing with stress that you do not need unless you do something about it. In our everyday lives we are forced to do something about most things but if we do not, something happens either way. So if you do nothing..nothing will happen and nothing is something! So in a since, nothing is everything and nothing is nothing being something.

I type in "nothing" in google images to see what came up. This picture just goes to show that nothing is something(there is something in that jar, whether it just be air, molecules, or simply just dust)nothing is captured!

wing earrings

Yesterday when I was wearing my simple wing earrings, that I love so much, I was getting so many great comments on them! And can you believe they were only a dollar.. yep one dollar! It just makes you think that the littlest and simplest things in life can get so much praise and you wouldn't even know it was a dollar. It really makes you want to stop and just appreciate the little things in your everyday life.

Audio Blog

Here is my audio blog... I took a while to get up because my original plan was to record my dogs playing. When they play they sound like Opera singers. Then I heard that someone had already recorded their dogs, so I wanted to do something different.I decided to sing with Sasha... We harmonized the song "unbreak my heart" By Toni Braxton and recorded my BIS 300 class. A special thanks to Ly for helping me =)

patterns in the sky

So after the third presentation today I was thinking about things that I usually don't realize on the way home. Usually when I am driving, I am concentrating on the road, but today, I couldn't help but realize the beautiful patterns in the sky that the geese were forming as they were flying south. There were so many of them flying it kinda made a eerie look in the sky with all the geese and the fog. I wish I could of took a picture but that would of resulted in a car accident and we wouldn't want that would we? =)

Smelly markers...Yummy!!

So in class we were using these smelly markers. If I was a little kid and had these I would think that all markers were smelly and maybe even taste them. I think that these markers should be for older kids and definitely not for kids under the age of eight. Although, they do have a good concept, I just don't think they are appropriate for the aged group they may be intended for.

Seriously? at Toys-R-Us?

Seriously... What has the world come to when you can't even be safe at Toys-r-us anymore? This is absolutely ridiculous ...No wonder they call it black Friday...

(CBS/AP) Two people are dead in a Black Friday shooting at a crowded Toys "R" Us in Palm Desert, Calif.

City Councilman Jim Ferguson says police have told him that the victims were two men with handguns who shot each other.

The councilman says his question is: who takes a loaded gun into a toy store. And his answer is: "I doubt it was the casual holiday shopper." Authorities are still investigating but indicate the shooting may have been gang related.

One woman says she was in the store looking at coloring books with her two young boys when there was a commotion in the next aisle. She thought it was a scramble for a sale, then heard gunshots. She says her four-year-old grabbed her leg and said he didn't want to die.

The violence erupted on the traditional post-Thanksgiving start of the holiday shopping surge, but accounts of what occurred inside the store were fragmentary or second hand and it was not clear whether it involved any shopping frenzy.

The Palm Desert Police Department received calls of shots fired around 11:35 a.m., Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez said. He said officers were still investigating what prompted the gunshots.

Immediately after the shooting, about 20 people rushed into the World Gym across the street from Toys "R" Us, the gym's assistant manager Glenn Splain told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.

"They were crying, tearing and shaking," Splain said, adding that one woman came in cradling a baby.

"Some people got into a fight," said Splain, who spoke with some of the customers. "One of the guys here thought it was over a toy, but it got louder and louder and then there were gunshots."

Sarah Pacia of Cathedral City told The Desert Sun newspaper she was in the store with her two boys, ages 4 and 6, looking at coloring books when she heard a commotion in the next aisle. She thought it was people rushing to get a sale item. Then she heard three or four shots.

She said she froze, and store employees calmly escorted her out of the store.

"This is Toys "R" Us. There are kids shopping in there," Pacia said. Her son Jayden, 4, was clinging to her leg. He told her he didn't want to die, she said.

Toys "R" Us officials did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Palm Desert is about 120 miles east of Los Angeles.

Believe in your imagination

When the advertising group told us to make our own signs I was really excited. I believe now a days adults minds are so flooded with there everyday life stress that they forget to let their imaginations run free and to believe in fairy tales and happy endings. Sometimes its nice just to forget about our bills and mortgages and sit back and watch a Disney movie and actually believe it could happen...

The meaning of singing...

From Wikipedia......Singing is the act of producing musical sounds with the voice, which is often contrasted with speech. A person who is singing is called a singer or vocalist. Singers perform music known as songs that can either be sung a cappella (without accompaniment) or accompanied by musicians and instruments. Singing is often done in a group, such as a choir. Nearly anyone who can speak can sing, since in many respects singing is merely a form of sustained speech. It can be informal and just for pleasure, for example, singing in the shower or karaoke; or it can be very formal, such as singing done professionally as a performance or in a recording studio. Singing at a high amateur or professional level usually requires a certain amount of innate talent and a great deal of regular practice, and/or instruction. [1] Professional singers usually build their careers around one specific musical genre and undergo voice training, provided by a voice teacher or coach throughout a career.

From the mind of Sarina.....
Singing to me is like the air I breath and the blood that runs through my veins. Singing can be a way of crying or a way of showing happiness. Music is a way to express things that happen in your everyday life. I believe now a days people are only in music for fame and not for the love a music. The radio stations play crap, music is not what it used to be although there are a few artist that stay original. I gave up on my dreams to become a singer to do something more realistic like school.. oh what a shame. I do love still expressing the way I feel through song.. like when im doing the dishes or just everyday activities.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving...isn't thanksgiving supposed to be a day for thanks and rest? When you have a big family like me its so hard to get to every ones house and make everyone happy. I have divorced parents and if I go to one of there houses first the other one gets upset.. why does a day that's supposed to be about giving thanks a family have to be so stressful? not to mention going to my boyfriends family as well. I used to love thanksgiving when I was younger just sitting around watching football and eating. Now, its just a huge stressful weekend of driving everywhere and hearing poeple say "what took you so long to get here?" ugh!

Fish and pedicure?

This is really strange one of my friends told me about this:

Flesh-eating fish: the daring new pedicure
At a Virginia salon, a type of carp (garra rufa) is used in the prep portion of a pedicure treatment, during which the fish nibble away dead skin cells. (Also called “doctor fish,” these toothless wonders were originally used to treat such conditions as psoriasis and eczema, so there’s no risk that you’ll lose a toe—phew!) According to salon owner John Ho, the nibbling is not painful but does tickle. He says the treatment leaves a smoother, longer-lasting pedicure—we say it sounds a little fishy.

Mr.Obama meets Mr. Bush (novels in three lines)

On Monday Mr. Obama and Mr. Bush will hold their first meeting since the Democrat's election victory.
Mr Obama has said that dealing with the economy is his top priority, and that he will move with "deliberate haste" to choose his cabinet.
One matter he highlighted was the Bush administration's attempts to authorise oil and gas drilling in Utah. (source BBC NEWS.com, October 9,2008)
